Hidden gem - short 100 yd boat/ferry to reach the very quiet Ulva and this lovely cafe. Very good seafood and local cheese/produce lunch (plus great selection of home baked cakes and treats, cans and alcohol). Short wooded circular walk or longer routes round the island (surprising to find houses in different states of repair) with fantastic views back to Ben More and Loch Na Keal. Genuine feel and good value - even better, you’re supporting the local community trust and long standing suppliers (same boat/ferry owner as 10 yrs ago when I last visited).

A unique location next to the clear waters of Ulva, next to the jetty and looking out to sea. A warm welcome - fantastic range of drinks including Dorset cider which is fermented in whisky casks. Despite arriving just after the kitchen was officially closed, we were delighted to be offered a ‘plate of nibbles’ which included langoustine, crab claw, lobster tail, hot smoked salmon, smoked salmon and a delicious salad plus generous slabs of bread and butter. Highly recommended

I have been here many times including two years ago. The food is delicious and the seafood is incredible as it comes straight out of the sea round Ulva. The service is impeccable and the staff friendly and helpful. The island lends itself to a good walk. Get there early for a trek around and then indulge yourself with the food and the cakes! They also stock some incredible local whey spirits! I also recommend the lobster I have never had better.

Perfect on every count. We drove an hour from Tobermory on the recommendation of staff from Croft 3 restaurant which is also excellent. Loved the drive and the little ferry. The Boathouse is wonderful, friendly staff and the most incredible food from local sources. Amazing fresh fish. I had the Asian beef dish as feeling cold. Cakes and coffee delicious. Had a walk around Ulva then spent a long time reading about the history of the island and what's planned renovation wise for the 18 occupants and visitors.

Highly recommend! We liked it here so much we came back again - the cakes and coffee are incredible (especially the carrot cake!), the staff are really friendly and have a beautiful dog. They’ve been open a few weeks and are doing really well!

What a wee little gem this is! For such a remote location, they effort Sam and team ours in for fresh locally caught seafood and home cooked dishes. This is an example of a Scottish Welcome. Bonus point, well behaved dogs are welcome too. We had a real feast there. When visiting Isle Mull, don't get stuck in Tobermory, EXPLORE the island.

A lovely cafe/restaurant with an incredible view. We spent a wonderful afternoon on Ulva, which was bookended by a good coffee and a beer at the Boathouse. We had views towards Ben More and the bay. The staff/owners were very friendly and welcoming. They had varied, high quality produce and a tasty brownie - the fresh seafood looked delicious!
